Patrick Gilligan is an Associate at Refinery Ventures, where he supports both the Operations and Investments teams. In his role, Patrick contributes to sourcing and evaluating potential investments, supporting portfolio companies, and helping drive internal initiatives across the firm. He brings a detail-oriented, analytical mindset to both sides of the business and plays a key part in driving operational efficiency and investment execution.
Before joining Refinery, Patrick was a Private Market Strategist at Fifth Third Bank, where he helped construct and manage over $200 million in private market investments. He led due diligence efforts across a wide spectrum of private equity and venture capital funds and worked closely with internal stakeholders and clients to communicate portfolio strategy, performance, and market insights.
Patrick earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Clemson University. He takes an engineering-minded approach to investing, combining technical curiosity with a love for data, modeling, and strategic thinking. Outside of work, he’s active in nonprofit leadership, enjoys reading biographies and sci-fi, and is always up for a good home project or conversation about early-stage capital.
