Camp Hustle

Refinery's June Newsletter

Camp Hustle invited investors to participate in discussion about investing in AI, fundraising for one’s fund, increasing one’s dealflow, and more. Organized by Hustle Fund, a prominent Bay-Area venture capital firm, events like Camp Hustle provide a platform for individuals to glean insights into emerging market trends and establish valuable connections within the startup ecosystem.
At Camp Hustle, Peter immersed himself in engaging workshops, networking opportunities, and surprisingly very few canoe races with a diverse mix of fund managers against the vibrant backdrop of the Bay Area. Peter found his experience to be both enlightening and rewarding, reaffirming the significance of attending such gatherings for professionals navigating the dynamic landscape of entrepreneurship and innovation.

2024 Global Takeoff Summit

Refinery's June Newsletter

In May, our good friend Sarah Anderson from The Vault Fund launched The Global Takeoff Summit. It was an industry-defining summit that focused on collaboration among LPs and GPs about best practices in company creation. Successful company creators like Atomic, BetaWorks, High Alpha, and many more provided lessons and insights about company creation.

Throughout the summit, one recurring topic dominated all the others: Get the CEO hire right. The summit’s emphasis on getting leadership hires right from the onset of company creation reinforces Refinery’s approach to talent, and it further signals how unique–and ahead of the curve–the X15 program is in creating a platform for hyper growth leadership.

We are excited to apply these insights to the Refinery Venture’s X15 Program and to the core problems about leadership and company creation.
