Adam Swick is an experienced investor, start-up operator, and management consultant. Adam is the perfect choice to bring his vast wealth of experience and unmatched expertise to the Refinery team.
Originally from Lima, Ohio, Adam graduated summa cum laude from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Upon graduation, Adam wasted no time in starting to hone his investment and consulting chops as he joined the ranks at the Boston Consulting Group in the windy city of Chicago. During his tenure at BCG, Adam consulted for a variety of clientele, including numerous Fortune 500 clients in a wide array of industries such as healthcare, consumer goods, information technology, and nonprofits.
Adam further extended the breadth of his investment and venture capital experience as he went on to join Pritzker Group Venture Capital, also in Chicago, where he evaluated countless early-stage investments ranging in size from $250k-$50M.
It was at this time that Adam returned to hit the books at the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. Upon graduating with his MBA, Adam founded Swick Capital, a crypto-asset hedge fund.
Before joining Refinery Ventures, Adam enjoyed a position as Director of Strategic Finance at Kraken Digital Asset Exchange, where he managed the company’s balance sheet, debt program, investor relations, and all forecasting activities.
When he is not surrounding himself with exciting startups at Refinery, Adam can be found enjoying other active pursuits, such as playing tennis or going for a run. He is also fearless and bold when it comes to another one of his passions—trying as many new restaurants and culinary creations as possible with his wife and family. And if any of those adventurous meals happen to end in his favorite dessert of ice cream… All the better.
